We have recently bought a hotpoint washing machine. It is cold fill and has two feeds which go into a Y shaped connector.

However, the cold pipe is to close to the outflow pipe for the Y connector to fit straight onto the cold pipe.

We therefore need a straightforward 90degree corner joint which we can attach one end to the cold pipe and one end to the Y connector.

We've bought 6 different corner parts so far and none fit - they are all either the wrong size or they have two ends the same (we need one male end and one female end) - can anyone help?????

Not sure if I understand what you saying.
I assume you have connected the flexible pipes to the machine, then the other end to the Y connector.
The Y connector to the cold supply

Well bury me in a Y shaped coffin........I can`t viz ualise what`s going on here :?

Is this a cold fill machine, or a hot and cold fill, fed with cold water only?

If it's cold fill only, then you don't need the 'Y' adaptor, just the cold hose connected to the single inlet on the machine.

If the machine is set up with hot and cold inlets you wish to tee together with a 'Y' adaptor to feed from a single cold supply, then perhaps replacing the valve with one of these would do the job.

let me see if I can explain a bit more...

The machine is cold fill but with TWO cold water feeds (don't ask me why) - hence the Y connector which was included with the machine.

The problem we have is that there is limited space between the cold water pipe on the kitchen wall and the outflow water pipe. A hose on it's own would fit but as the washing machine has two cold water feeds attached by the Y (which is about 4 inches long) there isnt enough space.

We need a right angle bit of pipe that we can connect one end to the cold water pipe on the wall and the other end to the Y (thus meaning there is space for the Y to fit at a different angle to the outflow pipe.

Does that shed any light?

So you're saying the end of the cold supply pipe you wish to connect to is too close to the washing machine at the moment for an easy connection to be made with a washing machine hose?
If that's the problem then you will need to make your connection to the water supply further away to get the hose to fit. There is no other easy solution. This will involve some basic plumbing skills but is a straightforward job,

Yes there is. Connect a flexible hose to the water supply (you said there is room) then connect the Y connector to that. Go to a plumbers & explain & you will get the fittings. I THINK.

Diyisfun is right, A Flexible Hose with your 'Y' adaptor connected to it 'seems' to be the solution here. Although it is difficult to visualise your layout. A picture would have helped.

Anyway, see this link for a typical Flexible Hose.

If you cannot wait for Screwfix to deliver, you'll get one from B&Q etc.

Hope that helps.
