Hi,

Leak at the back of the washing machine made its way straight to the neighbor below without me noticing. So now I wanted to put it on a vinyl in such a way that in case it happens again the water would travel to the front giving me a chance to spot the problem before neigbhours do!

So I went to CarpetRight and all their vinyls are so poor quality that I can tear them easily with my fingers.

So looking for advice on vinyl-like materials to put under machine that would ensure that any leaks travel to the front rather than straight down. Found flexible PVC 2mm thick though advertised as table cloth so unsure... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383656381755

Any advice on what could be suitable?

No matter what you do or what you use, unless it's setup like a wetroom floor where the whole space is completely sealed, if anything leaks I'm afraid it will always find its way downstairs. Such is the nature of living in a flat.
