Hi, we have just had a new washing machine fitted in the flat. This new machine now causes gurgling from the sink plumbing and occasional water rise into the sink. The old machine gave us no such problem.
The drain pipe from the machine is fitted directly to the drain from the sink, just above the u bend, as the water is pumped out the gurgling starts as the water flow ends. Help! Is there anything we can do to stop this, it's very annoying.
Many thanks

The new machine may well have a more efficient pump.
Teeing into the waste pipe as far after the trap (U bend) might help. You will need a trap between the mahine and new connection to prevent smells.
