Washing machine draining problem

We have had a new washing machine fitted. The drain pipe from the machine is fitted directly into the drain pipe from the sink, just above the u bend. The plumbing now gurgles noisily when the water drains from the machine and sometimes fires into the sink. Help! How do we combat this, the old machine didn't have this problem.
 
you've answered your own question !. Its no fault of the machine that whoever done your plumbing took the easy route . Ideally the machine should have its own standpipe and be not be connected anywhere near the sink.
 
Thanks very much for that. That's the way the plumbing is set up.
Maybe I need go get a man in to change it.
