Hi, I'm after a bit of help please. I've got a Hotpoint WML560P washing machine which is 18 months old, and this morning it has stopped working. It appears to be the door lock which is broken because when I press start on any programme the door clicks several times instead of the usual once and then just stops and does nothing. Sometimes it allows you to open the door afterwards and other times you have to pull the cord at the bottom to open it manually. Has anyone had any experience with this and is it possible to DIY this?
Thank you in advance
Paul

No way of testing it. I've done loads of these for the same fault.

Thanks for the help, I'll look at getting a motor for it. How do you get to it? Does the back or the front come off?

Rear lower panel comes off it's down the bottom with a belt round it.

The motor has arrived and it's the wrong one! Looking at the Hotpoint site there's two types! I've got the fault light flashing with lights 4 and 5, but I can't see that on the list of faults!
