Hello,
As title really, our drum stopped spinning, and we had the brushes replaced, which had both worn right down.
A few washes later, we noticed an odd burning kind of smell coming from the machine.
We are now told the armature on the motor is knackered, and we'll need a new motor.

My question is, what are the chances of the armature being knackered a few days after having the brushes replaced - could putting them in the wrong way around have caused the damage? I've not seen it myself, as it was taken away for investigations. I don't know the repairman, and I'm naturally suspicious :D

I'm going to replace motor myself, which is about £170 online, rather than having him do it for a quoted £220+.

Your thoughts would be welcome.
Thanks.
