Hi, I'd like to use a washing machine motor to make a sanding machine.
I got the motor from an old machine but I expected there to be just two terminals but there are six. Do I just connect the two that go to the brushes?
Thanks in advance.

Hmmm...not unless you want it to go bang
Washer motors are poorly suited for this kind of application.

Ok, how would I connect it?
It might not be ideal but its all I've got just now.

Just connecting a washing machine motor will cause it to ramp to max speed (prob 15000 rpm) which will make the motor go bang after a short while

That sounds fun but not quite what I'm aiming for.
Any tips?
