I am installing a new washing machine and it only requires a cold water supply. The old machine had both hot and cold water supply. The hot water supply that is no longer required even though the valve is turned off. Is there anything I can do to stop this? can I 'cap' it

Any help gratefully received

easiest way is to fit a 3/4" BSP cap on the valve when you take off the hot hose, if you dont have one you will need to turn off the hot water remove the valve and fit a 15mm compression blank end on the nut and ring from the valve, best to blank it off some way as the valve may pass some water behind the machine
