washing machine with hot and cold feed

my indesit washing has hot and cold feed, which i plumb in to cold only usi ng a Y connector, i now want to plumb in a dishwasher, do i have to have the hot water feed connected in order for this to work?
 
You could have 2 Y pieces but it starts getting messy. It would be better to do the job properly and T off the cold water pipework to provide 3 washing machine taps.
