Hi,
Replacing a utility room sink.
The sink waste hole is in a different place to the previous sink.
Attached image shows existing waste pipe and where the sink waste will roughly be.
Wondering whether it can be connected via a flexible waste pipe? If so, is it a male and and a female thread end?
Thanks for any advice.

1. Don't use a flexi.
2. Cut the vertical pipe, which appears to be solvent welded to the top elbow.
3. Fit the sink, attach the existing trap.
4. Run new pipe-work from the trap to the remains of the old vertical pipe, using solvent weld pipe and elbow (1 1/2" / 40 mm)
5. That vertical copper pipe might be in the way of a direct connection. If so modify the copper pipe or the waste pipework to avoid the clash.

I would treat yourself to a new Trap, you may well find the old one leaks if you try and reuse it.

Secondly, the Appliance waste hose needs to loop up, to the underside of the sink and drop back down to the discharge point, if left as is, there is a risk of dirty water from the sink going back into the appliance.
