Had a new bathroom external waste pipe fitted a couple of years ago which uses welded fittings. This runs across an area of wall rendering that needs to be replaced. I was going to cut the pipe and temporarily fit one or two push fit connections so that I can easily remove and replace the pipe on a daily basis as the job will last two or three days. However, on measuring the pipe it seems to be around 43mm OD. What sort of pipe is this and what fittings will fit? Once the work is done, I will replace the fittings with welded type but again what size?

Nominal 40mm solvent weld, push fit wont fit the pipe.

Multifit fittings should work.

Solvent weld (ABS plastic) is 43mm OD, push fit (PP plastic) is 40mm OD they aren't interchangeable

Use McAlpine compression couplers (multifit as suggested or surefit) as a temp solution
