hi there,

For some reason my central heating has got a lot noisier recently - you can hear water rushing around the system. Sounds like its circulating at 100mph!

I've a worcester 42 cdi combi. Pressure is about 1.5 bar when boiler is off going up to 2 when its on.

I can see from a service manual that the "pump step" can be altered but don't want to mess around with the system!

I'd be grateful for any ideas on troubleshooting this.

Water to all intents flows silently.

It sounds as if you are hearing the effects of gas/air in your system.

That should be able to be removed with the radiator air bleed screws.

See the FAQ on this site.

I would not call noise from a TRV "water rushing" but more of a hissing sound.

But turning the TRV head would alter the noise sound.

But he seems to be speaking about all the rads/system rather than just one or two rads.

Could in theory be a misadjusted or failed auto bypass.
