Taken me a while to localise this problem. When individual taps in the house are turned on I can get a water hammer effect which is always in the stretch of pipe leading to a hot water tap in the bathroom. The tap being turned on can be random and sometimes it doesn't cause the water hammer but it's always the hot tap area in the bathroom that's effected when it happens.
