No expansion vessel is needed but the ones i have fitted over the years have required a pressure-reducing valve and one or two have needed a blow off into a waste pipe ?....The instructions will tell you :)

If its anything like over-sink heaters then:-

- Heaters with the control on the cold inlet expand through the outlet spout.

- Heaters with control on the outlet allow for expansion back into the cold feed (God knows how thats regs approved but it is...)

Think the second one would apply but I've only had to deal with over-sinks.

It`s the length of the cold feeding it and the pressure therein that determines the need for a ex. vessel kit .........then the price doubles
