Hi All,

I need to add a Speedfit 15mm tee to an existing 15mm straight run of copper. Just wondering how much of the copper pipe do i need to take out to fit the tee? I am assuming one cut of the pipe won't work, i will need to take out a small section of the copper pipe to take into account the length of the tee?

Thanks

Just measure the distance between the two stop marks on the tee for your answer.

They are just over 15mm on speedfit tees.

Don't forget your supplementary earth bonding across the fitting if its plastic otherwise you risk breaking the earth continuity back to the consumer unit.

you have to hope that you have adequate movement to allow the tee-fitting to be manoeuvred into place, not as easy as it may sound, trust me. You can get slip couplings if needed.
