water in the pipes

hi been doing some soldering on some pipes in my bathroom

i shut off the water coming into the house, stopped the water that goes into the hot water tank, also drained the cwsc (have now fitted isolating valve to cwsc) so no need to drain the whole system

but i still had water trickling through the pipes making it very awkward to solder

can some one please give me advice on how to get all the water out of the pipes

Place a large rag below pipe and press down, thus expelling residual water.
If a constant trickle is observed then you may have an issolation point passing.

You should try to do your plumbing in a sensible order where all the soldering gets done first, on dry pipes, and the last connection to the wet pipe is a compression fitting.
A good quality torch helps too - I recently ditched my old Taymar for a SuperFire 2. My plumbing improved no end!

If they aren`t central heating pipes..... put a piece of dry bread in the pipe ....solder ...flush it out

wet vac are ideal. i would never be with out one.

stick a thin plastic tube down the pipe and siphon it out works well.

WetVac is best
