Hi,

My new-ish (3 years old) boiler started leaking water from the bottom right corner yesterday. This is the third time in about a year and a half. This time however, there is a smell. A bit like in laundrette (acetone?). It smells in the kitchen and the water itself (we put a little bucket underneath) does smell too. The boiler is currently switched off. Waiting for someone to come round today or tomorrow. I have two kids, should I be worried, is this dangerous?

Thank you
Sylvia

Most likely central heating water and there is an inhibitor in it to stop rusting always smells a bit. A bit like car antifreeze.
