Hi all,

In the void under my ground floor i have an inch or so of water.

On further investigation I have a pipe (under the void) coming from underground into the house. It sounds like this is where it is coming from, can hear a gushing of water.

Was wondering whos responsibility it was, mine or the water boards?

And i guess that it would be a job for a plumber?

Thanks

Its yours im afraid and sounds like the main.. turn off outside if poss and call an engineer !!

As it is your side of the water meter/stop cock it will be down to you I'm afraid.

Just be aware that when you call the water board to report a leak and it is your responsibility, they will issue you a 13 day notice of repair, in order for you to get it fixed.

They will obviously want to quote to do the work, (they may even be the cheapest) but it may be a good idea to organise another quote (from your friendly plumber/builder) so as not to be panicked into accepting the first quote that comes along.
