Hi - I've just spoken to Developer Services at Thames Water asking them about a mains water line upgrade.
I wanted to know if an upgrade would result in a better pressure/flow rate. I told them i currently have 2.5bar, 15 ltrs/min, and the house is old (at least 60 years) so has a lead supply pipe.
The lady kept responding to my questions with the answer "we gaurantee 1 bar, 9 ltrs/min". Appreciate she was just doing her job, not helpful to me though.
I need to know if an upgrade to the wider new modern pipes is worth the expenditure. At the moment, sounds too much of a gamble.
Could someone advise please:
1) Would i get improved flow and/or pressure after an upgrade?
2) If yes, by how much?
3) What diameter mdpe pipe should be used (22/25/32mm)?
Many thanks.
