Hi Fezter, the price i mentioned in my original post was for pipe moling. Its not cheap, at least down my neck of the woods. And it seems its like the wild west. Everyone who quoted me these prices is saying they will join the new pipe to the original pipe that enters our boundary. Rather than connecting to the actual pot/stop valve. The cheaper guys want to dig, presumably because they dont have a moling machine.
There was so much conflicting advice from various water mains firms that it led me to this post to see if I should just avoid the whole thing. May just be me , but paying almost 2K for a days work just seems wrong. My dad had a pipe moled at his property last year and they did it for £500. Sadly, im too far out for him to come down.
