Water on hob, now power keeps blowing

My son in law spilt water on the hob yesterday afternoon and it tripped the electrics

We dried it off and left it to dry out but everytime I try to reset the trip it is tripping with a big bang and sparks!!!

Any help appreciated as i have got a huge t bone with my name on it in the fridge!!!!

is it worth changing the fuse in the plug?

There is probably a puddle of water inside it. It needs drying out properly. Turn power off and lift hob out. Turn it over to drain water. Leave for an hour or two to dry before tring again.

Bangs and sparks may indicate there has been some damage done to the internal electrics.

How did you let a man into the kitchen. Better to leave him to watch the golf, its safer.
