Hi Guys
Does anyone know the correct way to lay water pipe from my borehole to the cottage?
At the moment the blue water pipe is buried about 1/2m down straight into stoney ground with a layer of plastic sheet on top with then perforated drainage pipe on top of that. I've no idea where the drainage pipe drains to!
I need to move it because it's just where I want to build a new wall!

Water pipes are usually buried between 700mm and 1200mm deep to protect them against frost.

It's usual to bed and cover the pipe with sand or sifted soil to keep any sharp stones in the trench or backfill from damaging it.

The perforated pipe is likely part of a land drain, nothing to do with the water supply.
