My floorboards have been waterstained by a water leak.
Does anyone know what is the best way to sand and wax the boards so the appearance of the water marks are reduced?

thanks

heeelllooo and welcome sweetnessandlight :D :D :D ;)

assuming its pine the truth is there is no way off telling
the discolouration might just be the the water making the clear finnish opake

or could be blue stain [a condition when wood is left wet ]a sort of mould that you can get in new timber

could also be the wood is still damp and needs to dry out

Thanks for the advice about the boards
We have has the rooms checked and they have given us the all clear regarding dampness.
the boards I completely dry but the water marks show where the water stopped spreading.
The boards have never been sanded or varnished. Does anyone thing they would look ok if I did sand or varnish them or would I be better off carpeting the rooms.
