I have a new washing machine. It has a cold water and hot water hoses that go in the back of the machine. I was told that I can connect the machine just to the cold water suply, therefore connecting only the cold water hose to the back of the machine and then put a "end cap" on the hot water nipple at the back of the machine. I tried that and it worked. The only problem is that I don't know if this type of connection can damage the machine? Or is it OK to use it like this?

Thanks a lot!

Forgot to mention that connecting both hoses of the machine will be a little problematic due to its location in my kitchen. I have connected the machine as described above to the kitchen fausset(sp?) directly via adapter.

I would suggest you use both hoses and connect them via a Y adaptor
