water tank help please

Hi im new to the forum i replaced my toilet and turned off the water in the kitchen and the loft

but now the valve in the loft doesnt feel like its tightening as if the screw has rung and we have no cold water for the bathrooms now is the valve buggered or am i being stupid?

the wheel at the top might have worn loose on the spindle. It is probably retained by a screw in the middle. Take the wheel off and turn the spindle with a spanner or mole. It must be a tight fit or the spindle will be rounded off. Buy a new valve and change it before it is needed again.

cheers man now i'll not get trying this til2moro im off to work soon and if i have to replace the whole valve is it easy enough and how costly is it?
