I have a Danfoss AT cylinder thermostat, recommended setting is 60 degrees, set at 50 degrees water will scald i have replaced the thermostat, new stat the same, tried turning down to 40 degrees, but some mornings water is luke warm, i have checked everything turning the thermostat up and down, it swithes the 2 way valve over and the boiler on and off all seems to be working okay, boiler thermostat turned up full as recommended any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi

I thought the Thermostat was faulty and as it was only £12 for a new one
i replaced it, but still have the problem.

the head doesnt always solve the problem as it is often the valve itself passing

Hi

Surely this will not cause the Hot water to overheat, if the Electrics are working okay and the boiler and pump shutting off when the set temp is reached.

Hi

Not sure what temp the water should be but have two young children and am concearned about them getting scalded, i set at 50deg earlier left it for 30 min to heat up and i could not hold my hand under running water this was too hot, but it seem that if i set it at 40 deg it is only luke warm some mornings after 1 hour heating.

Hi
I dont know where as i does not make sense, if the thermostat is shutting off at the required temp and the boiler is switching off when it should the water should not get too hot, only possible answer is the tank stat but i have tried a new one and there is no change

you won't hold your hand under water much hotter than about 43 degrees.

set your stat at 60 degrees unless you want legionnaires growing in your hot water cylinder.

fit a tmv to your taps.

Hi
So it sound like it is not too hot i have probably never had it turned up enough, what is a tmv valve??

read up on stored water and legionnaires.

thermostatic mixer valve.

fits to the hot tap and has cold feed to valve and you set the temp what you want from the hot tap. mixes cold with hot to give a temp that won't scald kids etc.

Hi
