Hi,
The mortar between the bricks on my chimney has failed and water is getting into the house. I need to repoint it but with the current wet weather I can't. I was thinking about applying a water seal to it as a temporary fix. Does anyone know of one that I can apply to damp bricks? The most I can hope for is 1/2 a dry day in the next few weeks. I was looking at the no nonsense one but can't find out if it will work.

Thanks in advance.

why dont you just cover it with a tarp until you have time to repoint it?

I would but it is a shared chimney and the other side is still used. Also it is so exposed the tarp wouldn't stay on for long.
Thanks.
