When tanking a marine ply floor with a paint-on tanking product, should these type of waterproof pipe collars be used, or is the tanking enough? If used, would they go on before or after tanking product is applied?

Pipes would be going through the floor from bath, basin, radiator, toilet supply pipe.

It's not a wet room, just a bathroom.

Thanks.

They would go on before the tanking product but I wonder why you'd need them on the floor, unless you are expecting it to get very wet. What flooring are you putting down over the ply and if you've not installed the ply yet have you considered using cement boards instead?

I recent refurbished retired our en-suite and refitted our main bathrooms and used the 6mm cement boards from Tile Giant on both floors (floorboards) then tiled on top using a flexible adhesive and grout. Both floors are rock solid without being raised too much.

Ultimate handyman has a good tanking video at this link (~10mins for the pipe collars)

I used the Mapei tanking kit in one room and the Aquaseal kit in the other. My preference would be the Aquaseal because the self adhesive tape I should much easier to use and gives a lower profile when tiling onto the tanked area. With the Mapei kit you apply the tanking product, put the tape onto it and then apply more product on top.
If you go for the Aquaseal kit you might need extra tape as the kit does not come with very much but the costs are comparable, I.e. Mapei kit £ = Aquaseal kit + extra tape £
