We have just constructed a new 10 x 8 metal shed onto a new, very smooth concrete base which has a damp proof membrane incorporated into it. The metal base appeared to fit snugly against the concrete but after recent heavy rain the water has literally soaked right under the metal base and into the shed itself making the floor saturated. The instructions received with the shed (which was made in USA) does not give any suggestions for preventing this. I did think of applying clear mastic all around but before doing so, if anyone has any better ideas/suggestions, this would be much appreciated.

Raise it up, no point in trying to keep water out. Get some concrete blocks, second hand bricks, cheap paving slabs, timber sleepers, whatever it takes.

Are you sure it's not a leaky roof? is the ground around the concrete base higher, does the conc base have a fall in it?

metal sheds are also prone to condensation
so you need to check the moisture hasnt rained down from above inside the roof!!!!

Sound like you have a pretty poor shed, does the shed have an integral base?? A lot of budget sheds don't or it is so think that water ingress is common. Is it a B and Q or Argos type or the more expensive type from a specialist metal shed manufacturer i.e. www.asgardsss.co.uk A lot of cheap sheds under £299 are made over seas by the millions and are pretty rubbish
