A long time ago, my stone flag kitchen floor was sealed with Thompson's waterseal. Thompson's tell me the only way to remove it is with white spirit. I've tried it and I can guarantee that it doesn't, even after generous doses of Nitromors. Anyone got any ideas?

I want to remove it because patches are already coming off with wear so it's clearly not a durable finish and certainly wasn't made for floors.

Cellulose thinner is stronger than white spirit or evo-stick glue remover might do it ???

or see this.

Thanks. Will give it a try. The BDI stuff was useful too.
