Hi!

I intend to convert the first 1.5m of my garage into a WC. The garage is entred through a door from the kitchen. I will build a corridor which will lead to the remainder of the garage. There will be a 1 hour fire door at this point. Off the corridor will be the WC (through another door).

I intend to build a stud partition wall to create the room. Will I need brick or blockwork at the bottom of this wall for fire regs or can the stud partion go down to the extisting garage floor?

I am told that two layers of wallboard / plasterboard will be sufficent for fire regs.?????

Can I do the same for the ceiling? (almost creating a box within the garage)

The outer wall of the garage is single skin. How can i make this insultated to regulation via a partion method? What about vapour barriers / protection?

Where the dividing wall hits the outer wall, will I need to vapour barrier on this stud, if so what do I use?

Hope you can help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :?:
