Hi,

My WC cistern is overflowing as the ball valve is closing too high. I have adjusted the screws of the ball valve to make it close at a lower position but after an hour it is overflowing again.

I suppose I have a simple question...do i need to change the entire ball valve assembly or there something simpler that I could do?

Thanks

James

Isolate toilet
buy bucket
fill bucket
leave at side of toilet

That's the simplest way.

Well there's gratitude for you!

Seriously though the ball valve has sealing washer inside, you could try changing that but you would still have to isolate the water to the toilet first.

Those ball valve assemblies are simple to refurbish, and kits are available from Diy sheds. Simple side entry valves are cheap and it may pay to replace the whole assy. Take a pic and match it up.
