We have hot water but no central heating.

Tis a comby.

I went and fiddled around with therm and tuned it down loads and later up high and it has come on but it has been twodays of being sporadic on and off so I do think I need something fixed...

Could be a diverter valve issue, if it's an ecotec plus and was fitted by a Vaillant registered installer it'll still be under warranty (if it's less than two years old it'll be under warranty anyway), so call Vaillant out to it

Yeah but wally that I m did not complete the warrenty. It is sitting in top of flipping boiler now.

If it was fitted by a Vaillant registered installer you wouldn't have had to, as they do that for you via the Internet. Was it fitted by a Vaillant registered installer?

Also, is it an ecotec plus, or an ecotec pro?

Oooh absolute bottom model then, lovely :? It'll almost certainly be the diverter, they're plastic on these and don't last very long

bottom model, bollix. My Da is a plumber, (in OZ) he always said with boilers you should buy the ferrari model. Clearly Ilet him down.

Right where is the diverter ? How much arethey and are they easily changed?
