Hello All,

Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 diesel, 59 plate.

Replaced pump, cleaned bottle, cleaned bonnet jets, still a bit dribbly.

I don't have a compressor to blow the hoses out; would using a cycle track pump or 12v tyre inflator (with an appropriate adaptor) be viable?

Or, is there some sort of solvent that would clean the pipes out, without wrecking some other part(s) or paintwork?

TIA:)

Compressed air is really the way to go, and the bike pump idea may prove fine - I wouldn't use any solvent.
On disconnecting the pipe from the jets and testing, you should get a pretty good flow through the open end of the pipe; if not, maybe the pipe has a kink somewhere?
A good blast through the jets (backover) is a good thing too!
John :)

Thanks John,

I've Googled, but can't find an applicable definition of "backover".
Does it mean "blasting against the normal direction of flow"?

Yes, my apologies! Usually I blast compressed air back down the nozzle that may shift any debris.
One point - occasionally the washer pipe kinks when the bonnet is down, but behaves itself when the bonnet is up o_O just adds to the fun!
John :)
