roll the putty in your hand and check its well mixed roll bits off into a suasage

streach off the front of the sausage use you thumb to push onto the main opening about 3 to 4 mm thick ]dos'nt have to be to level]
you want your puttyed opening to be around 2mm smaller than the glass so it pushes the putty back filling in any gaps and pushing into the space at the back between glass and frame
you need to work the glass back easing out the extra putty around the whole pain off glass

you should at this stage have around a 2 to 4mm layer of putty between wood and glass

you now need to pin in the glass with panel pins line up the pin around 3mm away from the glass gently tap down with the hammer never loosing contact with the glass nail every foot or 2 around the edge

now fill in the front edge off the glass with sufficient putty to fill a 45 deg angle from the frame to the glass plus a bit more to push it in firmly and ooze out the sides
