weeping from hot water cylinder

have bog-standard gravity-fed CH system in top-floor flat

my copper hot water cylinder has started weeping - not very much (1 litre/hour MAX but varies), and virtually nil when feed from cold water tank is shut AND hot taps run till pressure drops

I am reconciled to replacement at a future date but had budgetted to replace boiler and tank next year with with thermal store system to get the benefit of efficiency and mains-pressure hot water feed

is there any way of effecting temporary repair (metal repair kit/brazing/whatever) which will allow normal use of hot water for 9 months without risk of severe flooding due to worsening leak/failure of stop valve due to overuse??

Hi

Might be able to mend, but depends a lot on where it is on the tank.

Got a picture.

Hope this helps
