Hey all,

Just bought a property, top floor flat, property was very old, built before 1900. Anyway was up in the loft today, apart from there being utterly no insulation there was a small covered area of these weird white chips, almost looked like very very very small prawn crackers.

Anyone got any ideas of what they could be?

Plus anyone know of any good DIY books for everything?

Cheers

(a) polystyrene packing material that someone has mistaken for insulation?
(b) Very, very very small prawn crackers?

As for DIY manuals, I have one at home that someone once gave me (Collins or Reader's Digest DIY Manual, can't remember which). Gives a good overview of a lot of things, but you're often better off looking for Youtube videos.

Cheers
Richard
