one of my radiators upstairs doesn't work, i have been informed it might be the pin in the thermostatic valve being stuck, the problem i have is i cannot for the life of me get the top off the valve. its a westherm valve with 2 plastic pins on the base that are removable. Can anyone tell me does the top acctually come off or do i have to take the whole unit off first?

many thanks in advance for any help anyone out there can offer

TRV heads always come off, usually via undoing a large nut connecting to the body of the valve.
