I doubt that you will see anything out of the window. You need to look in the void (if there is one) at the bottom of the ceiling slope and at floor level. There may be timber panels to open and stick your head in. If there are any pipe runs there, then they may be a suspect
Otherwise the roof will need to be investigated externally and tiles will have to come off
