Wet conservatory ceiling - caused by condensation?

Am hoping someone may be able to give some advice on our conservatory - over recent days we've noticed some wetness on the ceiling by the bay window. It's always at its worst in the morning, to the point that we sometimes see a small amount of water having dripped on the floor. It always dries out by itself during the course of the day and in fact, I don't think the roof is wet when it rains.

Does this sound like a simple case of condensation - the windows do seem to suffer quite badly with this. We've lived here for 13 years and certainly haven't noticed a problem until a couple of weeks ago so not sure why a condensation issue would only have come to light this year?

Any thoughts appreciated. And if it likely to be caused by condensation, whether the best option would be to run a dehumidifier in the conversatory overnight - we have no heating out there!

Many Thanks

Do you have doors to shut off the conservatory from the rest of the house?

Is there wet washing anywhere?

Have you got a water meter?

Yes we have doors that can shut off the conservatory from the rest of the house (not always used however)

Yes there is wet washing in the conservatory frequently.
And no we haven't got a water meter.

Thanks Pete

the wet washing releases water vapour into the air. Unless you ventilate it out faster, it will cause condensation.

shut the doors to keep the rest of the house dry and to reduce heat loss.

ok thank you for your input. Would a dehumidifier help do you think or something like a damp/moisture trap?

try to dry the washing outside the house. Or ventilate the conservatory more. It will be cold in winter. Or get a tumble drier.

Have you got an effective extractor fan in the bathroom?

hi you may have already checked this but it may be a leak on the lead flashing above your bay window or even a cracked roof tile, I know you said it didn't get wet when it rained, but it could take a while for the water to build up above the ceiling especially if there's insulation up there. or maybe a leak in the cavity wall from the roof or guttering
