Hi
Hope this is the right section to put this in .
Has anyone got any experience of building these .

Basically want to know if they are hard work to keep water tight .If I make one in an ensuite I dont want it leaking through into the room below.
Is it likely to after a few years etc .
Should I stick with a traditional shower try ?

Anyone have any good or back feedback on them .?
Many Thanks
Rob.

P.S put it here due to it going to be tiled etc.

I have done a couple of these.Floor boards all securely fixed and then boarded with 12mm wbp ply.

Siliconed all joints first.
Tanked floor and walls (about 1 meter up) all internals taped.
Once dry checked by hosing joints with shower before .
Edges of the floor are areas to be most worried about.

I have only limited experience on these but as with anything it's all about proper prep.

Thanks for the feedback Lancenotalot .
I guess you cant cut any corners on this type of job.Not that I would but i would end up tanking ,then tanking again and then again for fear of leaks .I may just go for the showertray option .
Regards
Rob.
