Wet underfloor heating on existing uninsulated/ no dpm'd concrete floor

Hi all,

I want to install wet underfloor heating on the ground floor of my property. It's a 1930's build, all of ground floor is solid concrete floor. Assumed that no DPM and insulation as its original build.

What are my options to install wet underfloor heating? I have the ceiling height so can afford to lose 4 inchs or so.

I'd rather not have to dig up the existing to get the dpm in and make a new slab.

What are my other options?

I would say that you can do that. WITH insulation min 75 mm.

BUT is it worth all the bother???

Do i need to install the dpm under the slab or can it be ontop of existing slab andthen insutiolation boards ontop then screed?

I would it at home. How effective depends the rest of the property and its heat loss and drafts.

So its fine if I put the DPM ontop of the existing concrete slab? Put 75mm celotex double side foiled back. Run my pipes ontop of this and then 60mm screed?

Is this acceptable practice?

The need for a dpm is probably best advised by a builder. Otherwise crack on.
