My mum's shower wasn't draining well other day, so I put some drain cleaner down and it seems to have fixed the issue.

However now I've seen how badly it looks, I'm just wondering if this is normal or if I should get it looked at.

Concrete flooring runs through the whole downstairs, so not sure what type of drain this is because most showers I've seen have the plastic waste.

Absolutely not, that needs looked at sooner rather than later but that could end up a real can of worms if it's a wet room. That metal waste is badly corroded and really needs replaced. Careful with caustic /acid type drain cleaners as they may not react well with metal wastes/trap.

Please let the trade know that drain cleaners have been used before they get in there.

Thanks.

I'll get it looked at. It's only Mr muscle, nothing really strong but I'll let them know.

Will be a big job because concrete flooring all over.
