.....of removing the tail and using just the elbow with some loctite 55?

This is a temporary setup to get us through the winter but I'd rather it stuck out a bit less.

Seems ok, I used some of that green flomaster pipe seal in the end. I think ones piped back to front as it was a lot slower to warm up and it's still slightly cool where the flow enters, I think I'll swap it round tomorrow and see if it improves.

I did wonder if that was a factor - they're quite big. As I said it's very temporary,; these rads are destined for elsewhere with 15mm pipes - I've got 2 much smaller rads for these areas later on but at the moment it's the lounge rad, these two and a tiny gas fire to heat the entire ground floor hence I've crammed the biggest ones I've got in. Hopefully they'll warm up quicker when properly installed on 15mm pipe.
 
Don't put them into heating open spaces as they aren't great at heating larger spaces. Just the way they work.
