I want to redo the downstairs loo.

I’m have zero plumbing skills but a lot of time and patience.

what is going on with these pipes though? Why isn’t there a hot, cold and waste? Is there an extra cold pipe?

Looks like a feed to something on the other side of the wall. Outside tap? Appliance?

That’s exactly what it is! Thanks very much

If it’s an outside tap, if you’re going to re-do everything then you should consider installing a non-return valve. This is a legal requirement to prevent water from e.g. a hose pipe from re-entering the fresh supply.

(It’s possible that you do have a valve, but it’s incorporated into the outside tap itself.)

Thanks for this. Will look into it. I would not be surprised if there is no valve.
