I am not sure how this appeared although there are some minor cracks in the house from subsidence. The plastboard has cracked and become floppy! Is there a way to patch it together without having to cut a new bit as it will need a small amount of artex. The plasterboard is just above a window at an angle. I did try filler today... Thanks for your advice.

You might be able to wedge some wood behind the gap and use that as a base for filling it. Make it over length so you can attach it at either end with plasterboard screws sunk just below the surface, but watch out for cables and joists in the way.

As blup suggested , a tub of artex will hide poor filling ( but not that poor).
