We got the keys to our new place yesterday
The living room is 3.5m x 6m and as you can see from the pictures below, it's got some serious artex!
I'm a competent diy plasterer, so my intention is to skim the ceiling. I would do it in two halves, using the reversed stop bead method.
However, having has a close look at the ceiling today the artex is pretty deep in places, and there are a few cracks (which appear to run along the joins of the plasterboards above the artex.
This made me wonder if it might actually be easier to tear the whole ceiling down then re-plasterboard it before skimming.
It's also my intention to remove the coving.
Which do you think it the better route - just skim over the artex, or just start again?
