What do I need?

I have a wired (Cat5 cabled) and wireless network at home which coexist and share things quite happily.

What I want to do is to store all of the DVD's that we have (suppose it's about a hundred or so, but hiring them will mean it needs to be expandable) on a NAS drive which we can keep under the stairs. PC's and laptops will obviously be able to access these easily enough, but we have a few TV's around the house (all close to wired network access points) which will need some kind of media player.

Is my thinking not too far from being right, and can anyone suggest or recommend hardware that will be appropriate but not completely frighten the bank manager?

Do you mean a single media player,there was a guy at work extolling the virtues of one of these to store all his music and film's on to play back through his tv.
