I want to renew some plastic water pipe 15mm to remove multi connections used with original. However when looking for pipe I see BPEX and PEX the former being oxygen barrier version of latter plus QPL Polybutylene. It will be feeding a shower both hot and cold not drinking water.

Which type of pipe should I use? I see JG Speedfit P-EX Barrier Pipe 30m x 15mm is cheapest at £17.99 although I only need 5m from screwfix. I will try local plumbing supplier first of course. But screwfix prices on line so good bench mark for price.

Hot water is from main 7 boiler so at mains pressure.

i don't really use plastic but if I needed any i would just buy Hepworth with their stainless steel inserts.

JG requires it's own inserts which are expensive.

I wouldn't buy plastic pipe inserts or fittings using a cheapness scale, unless my choice was made buy selecting the most expensive.

Cheap pipe and fittings equal stressful future life.

As far as I'm aware I've always used the full barrier pipe to stop oxygen ingress.

I've never been given any choice at the merchants.

Personally I would go for this, all bases are then covered.
