What is my boiler doing? Please Watch Video

flame lift is caused mainly by excess flue pull usaly on opened flued appliances
in yours you may need a new burner if problem with flame retention ports
or you have very high winds going across the the square flue
or possibly case seal fooked unlikly as bg would picked that one up

I cannot visualise your boiler but presume its a non fanned model.

If thats the case then there is normally little to change the conditions within the boiler apart from the external aspects surrounding the flue.

Where is this fitted? Can you do a photo?

Is it near internal or external corners?

Tony

Get the flue checked. In fact, why bother, let BG bod fix it. You should not need to tell him/ her what is wrong. :D

Check the handle next to the gasmeter, it should be all the way open; if you can't work out which side is open, just turn it as far as it will go.

I have taken a couple of pictures as requested by Tony and included videos of the boiler on pilot and when running without flame lift.

Classic RS 240 is a basic cast iron, non pcb, no fans and is a 1998 model. Installed in the kitchen 10" from a corner, hopefully the pictures show anything else you may need. let me know if you need any more - thanks
